On the Verge – Book 1 – Page 9

Today is the second page of the spread. I think this page is slightly more dynamic with the people and the overall design of it but that’s just me. I’m going to keep this one short, so here’s the art:

And as promised, here’s the full spread so you can see how that looks:

Details, details, details
That pretty much explains what I’ve been dealing with in trying to finish off this batch of pages that I’ve been working on for the past couple of weeks. Back when I was working on the original Chapter Zero I really tried to work out the backgrounds and background details. I think around the time I was working on my 29 Day Comic Project I cut down on the backgrounds since I was trying to bang out a page a day and just didn’t have the time. Anyway, I really want to get back to working on setting the scenes a little bit with the backgrounds and all the extra details I can add in, so it’s taking me a little bit more time than I would like to finish off the pencils. Luckily, inking usually takes me far less time. Usually…

Man of Steel
I mentioned last week that I was going to be posting some illustrations from my Man of Steel series that I’ve been working lately. I like to do other things outside of OTV just to keep me interested. Anyway, I posted images to Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and Instagram if you’re interested in checking them out.

Some much need vacation
And finally, while June seems to be one long vacation since I have so much going on that’s not work or OTV related, I’m actually really going to take some time off starting tomorrow. So hopefully a few days of doing nothing but sitting on a dock at the cottage will recharge the batteries a little bit.

And that’s it for this week. Lots of OTV stuff is in the works and I just need to get it done once I get back. No pressure, right? See you next week!
