August end-of-month update

Can you believe that it’s the end of August! Where did the summer go? Anyway, I haven’t really blogged too much over the summer as I’ve been busy with lots of other projects and work. Blogging kind of fell by the wayside and I thought that today would be a good time to get back at it.

So as I just said, I’ve been busy. Who hasn’t, right? But I’ve spent the last 4-6 weeks really working hard on new OTV pages and I’m happy to report that as of this morning, I’m completely done with them (which is a BIG relief). I haven’t really said too much about what all this work is other than a “Top Secret Project” and that was on purpose since I like to keep people interested and guessing. But you’ll be finding out soon enough. The final 2-page spread of Chapter 5 goes up on Tuesday and then the following week I’ll reveal what the heck this is all about.

I’ve also managed to completely finish off the colouring for Chapter 6 during this 4-6 weeks of work and that means I’ve got another 30-odd pages ready to post which is a good buffer in case I get busy with other things. The other item that’s been keeping me busy is that I’m working on designing an anthology that’s going to collect a bunch of crime stories. It’s been a bit of work so far but I’m really excited with how it’s looking and once I have some more information, I’ll be sure to share it here.

So yeah, I’m just about ready for things to go back to “normal” where I can get up, go to the gym, come to work and plug away at some design, do some inking over my lunch hour and that’s about it. Stress free! That would be awesome. I know that I’ll always do these little month-long sessions of work in order to meet my (self-imposed) deadlines but I’ve really got to try to stop it. They’re such compressed periods of just nothing but work that by the end I’m just spent. Anyway, I’ll work on that.

And now it’s time to finish off some work and get ready for the Labour Day weekend! I hope everyone has a good time and I’ll see you back here on Tuesday!
