I have always been interested in the process of making images and I have channeled that into almost 20 years of professional experience as a graphic designer, illustrator, artist and comic book creator.
After graduating from Sheridan College’s Illustration Program, I worked for a year as the lead designer for the retail and commercial design firm Prescription for Retail, then followed this with a stint of freelance work before joining the Co-operators in-house design team. Sixteen years later, I now lead the talented team of multidisciplinary creatives for the Internal Creative Agency at the Co-operators which produces creative and graphic design work for all of the company’s brand and marketing activities.
I have been working as an indie comic creator since 2010 and have created and self-published the webcomic ON THE VERGE. In 2017, I co-created VAGRANT QUEEN with writer Magdalene Visaggio and published two 6-issue storylines The Bezoar of Kings and A Planet Called Doom at Vault Comics. Vagrant Queen has been adapted into a television show which aired on Syfy and a pair of audiobooks from Audible. Magdalene and I also collaborated on the comics ANDREW JACKSON IN SPACE and THE SISTERS.
When not busy with the above, I run Littlesmith Studio with my wife. Littlesmith specializes in bringing forward-thinking style and eye-catching design to brands of all shapes and sizes. We offer development, design, and branding services across multiple disciplines: from logos and illustration to website design and corporate reports.
I am based just outside of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When not brainstorming, drawing, painting or designing, I love spending my free time with my wife and our two dogs.
