On the Verge – The Arrow of Time – Page 298-299
Last week I talked about the imagery that the new page featured and this week I want to talk about the words. I think one of the biggest things that I tried to work into this chapter was the copy from the opening few pages of this whole story. Back when I was putting together what was at the time the prologue, I really wanted to write something that sort of summarized Hannah’s whole journey in the story. So when it came to the final couple of pages on this chapter, I really felt like those same thoughts and words worked really well to tie everything that’s happened up.
Just like with the imagery, I think pulling content from early in the story to tie everything together really helps. For these series of pages, it was important to change up the imagery as well. For me, both the change of images and the story that precedes these pages, really help the words take on a different meaning than they did at the very start of the story.
Here’s the spread. It’s an eye full…

Anyway, we’re getting super close to the end of this chapter. Only one more post to go… See you next week.

The Butterman is coming…
As this post goes up, I should hopefully be getting close to finishing off the inks on the last page of THE BUTTERMAN! I have to say, I’m really going to miss drawing this guy… Here’s a sneak peek that I posted to Instagram last night of some work-in-progress.
